Taco Dive is a small hole-in-the-wall located on the Treasure Coast of Florida and boasts some of the best, unique tacos in the area! It’s not your traditional Mexican restaurant; they put a unique twist on the average taco, perfecting it to a “T”.
Taco Dive opened their doors in downtown Fort Pierce in 2015 and they currently have several locations throughout the Treasure Coast including Vero Beach and Port Saint Lucie. The Port Saint Lucie location is our favorite and we love to visit often…it’s THAT good!
The Area
The Treasure Coast is best known for you know it…”Treasure”!
Hundreds of years ago in 1715, a fleet of Spanish ships carrying gold, silver, and jewels wrecked just offshore giving the area the name. The ships fell victim to winds of a hurricane and sank, scattering their valuable cargo all over the sea floor. To this day, these treasures still adorn the waters and can be found washed up on the shores.
Conveniently located off of I-95 in Port Saint Lucie, Taco Dive is a hidden gem in the Tradition community and a must-eat-at local taco joint!
The Atmosphere
All of the Taco Dive locations have a rustic, industrial vibe. A steal coil spring mattress turned into a unique multi light fixture hangs above the bar in the Port Saint Lucie location. Wood pallets hang on the walls throughout and most of the tables are bar style.
The locations are all rather small and have limited seating. They don’t take reservations; however the staff is always on top of their guests and will get you greeted and on a waiting list quickly if you visit during peak times. Typically, the wait times are minimal.
The Food
Fresh ingredients, consistency, and a unique twist on the average taco! With a small and specialized a la carte menu, there’s something for everyone!
My personal favorite is their pork taco. Loaded with slow roasted pork, cabbage, pineapple, and an extraordinary thai sauce that is dripping with flavor and leaves you wanting more! Another one of our favorites is the cajun shrimp taco; topped with their special chipotle lime sauce, it has plenty to enjoy with blackened shrimp, tomato, and avocado. It’s definitely a must-have!
If you’re not in the mood for a taco, grab a bite of their drunken burrito. You can get it with your choice of meat and make sure to get it “wet”. It’s delicious and very filling! Rumor has it that the nachos are out of this world good! We have a family member who gets the nachos every time and always raves about them.
Taco Dive is a casual place to have a bite to eat for lunch or dinner along with a craft beer. 2-3 tacos will fill you up and leave you with a full belly!
PRO TIP: Don’t miss out on the “Food Before Food” a.k.a. appetizers! The guacomole, queso, and smothered tots are incredible! YUM!
All Time Favorite
Taco Dive is a regular foodie visit for us! It is consistently SO good and one of a kind! If you’re in the Treasure Coast, Florida area, definitely give them a try!
